20th October 2019: Strike Taekwondo Championships
Strike clubs welcomed a number of other clubs to Skipton, North Yorkshire, for a 1-1 sparring and poomsae competition. The event was put on to encourage students to have a go at competitive Taekwondo in a friendly and supportive environment. Clubs from Supreme, Chungdokwan, Mount, Dragon and Inspire were all in attendence. The day saw some fantastic displays of poomsae both in the individual and team events, with some extra individual flair shown by students in the creative category. The sparring event proved to be inspirational with some great fights on the day and some closely fought matches. Everyone who took part, came away having gained experience, made new friends, and developed self confidence. Congratulations to all involved!

Team Strike had an amazing 1st day at the Poomsae Championships held in Manchester. Master Lisa Winteridge led the success once again maintaining her title by achieving Gold in the Black Belt division. 17th March 2019: UKTDC Dan Grading
Congratulations to 11 year old, Strike Taekwondo student, Caden Peel! Caden was awarded his 1st Poom (Junior Black Belt) following successful testing in Skelmersdale. The grading panel consisted of highly ranked and experienced Taekwondo professionals, headed up by Grand Master Craig Waddington, 9th Dan Black Belt. Caden has trained for approximately 4 years, he attends every class available, training 5 days per week, practises at home and is a valuable member of Team Strike at competitions. A great achievement for someone so young and very well deserved!
3rd March 2019: Inspire Dan Grading Seminar
Senior grade students were invited to train with G.Master Waddington, 9th Dan, and Master Hudson, 7th Dan, at Inspire HQ in Skelmersdale. The day consisted of poomsae training, one step and self defense in preparation for the Dan grading taking place in 2 weeks time. Several other clubs were also in attendence.

Students were successful in achieving their next belts at the recent Kup promotion test held at Strike HQ. Only those students deemed ready for the grading were selected to take part, with all their hard work, commitment and determination resulting in success.
November 2018: New Home!
Strike Taekwondo has moved to a new home! Now in premises which will feature 2 training rooms, changing facilities, waiting room for parents/family, office and toilet facilities; this is a positive move for the club with an exciting future ahead. Team Strike and families all came together to make the move happen, it was a memorable and eventful day after approximately 10 years at Keighley Business Centre. The new venue will also home new equipment such as kick bags, “Bob” and much more, to benefit students progress. Still in the heart of Keighley town centre, Strike will continue to go from strength to strength.
November 2018: Training with G.Master Mark Richardson
8th Dan, Grand Master Mark Richardson and his team visited Strike Taekwondo to lead a training session working on basic kick techniques. The former World Medalist, Master Jaki Richardson and senior students from Manchester Sport Taekwondo both motivated and inspired Strike students to improve their performance and develop their skill set further.
10/11th November 2018: England Open International Championships
Team Strike had a highly successful 1st day in the Poomsae taking overall team place 3rd. Master Lisa Winteridge regained her title of England Open Champion following her disappointment earlier in the year with bronze, taking Gold along with the Champion of Champions title. Gold also went to Ben Hawksworth, Paul Farrar, Karen Stansfield, Ruby Drake. Silver - Caden Peel.Day 2 saw the Kyorugi take place; some lessons to be learnt for the team, no golds this time but the team fought with heart, spirit and determination. Silver: Gregor Perenc, Andy Stansfield, Gracie-Leigh Madden. Bronze: Riley, Henry, Layla, Remek and Harvey. Elizabeth, Jamie, Sienna and Ty also represented the team well during the weekend.
7th October 2018: Strike Taekwondo Interclub
Strike’s first interclub took place with students from across Strike’s Keighley and Skipton branch. This was an ideal introduction to Taekwondo competition for many students and a some important preparation ahead of the International Open for more advanced students in November. The competiton hosted events in speed kicking, poomsae, team poomsae and kyorugi. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day which saw a great team spirit and sportsmanship among all competitiors.
6th October 2018: Training with Paul Green and Gareth Brown
2 of Strike’s top Kyorugi Juniors, Henry Stansfield and Ehsan Siddique, travelled to Inspire TKD in Liverpool to train under two of the World’s best coaches Paul Green and Gareth Brown. Both boys gained alot from this amazing experience. Paul Green coached GB’s Jade Jones to 2 Olympic Golds and Bianca Walkden to World Champion whilst on the GB coaching staff.
May 2018: First Aid Training
Strike Taekwondo Instructors and volunteers completed First Aid Training, delivered by GEM Compliance Ltd. The training involved how to deal with an unresponsive casualty along with CPR, use of defibrilator and dealing with head injuries along with other common injuries associated with a contact sport. All are now first aid qualified.

22nd October 2017: Training with Grand Master Vohra
Strike students took part in a training session with 9th Dan Black Belt, Grand Master Vohra. The first 2 hours was open to all grades and ages, with youngest Strike student, Hector Mitchell joining in the fun. Students went through a number of warm up and flexibility exercises before working on Taekwondo kicking techniques and poomsae. The remaining 2 hours focussed on skills required for black belt testing. Blue belts and above were taught self-defense, flying kick techniques and accuracy/power for breaking.
8th October 2017: Training with YouTube sensation G.Master Jeong
Strike’s instructors and students took part in a training seminar hosted by G.Master Jeong who was on his European tour from Korea. Master Jeong is known world wide for his poomsae application in street defense. The training was insightful in how best to generate power through core response, breath, relaxation and technique. The first 3 hour session was spent looking at these basic methods and utilising them by bringing them together. After lunch, students worked in pairs focussing on self defense movements from poomsae, being applied to real life situations.

9th September 2017: Strike Kup Grading
Students took part in the kup grading held at Strike Keighley. Congratulations to all those who were successful in acheiving the grade: -Successful students were presented certificates on the day by Master Lisa Winteridge, Master Ben Mitchell and coach Charlotte Jewsbury.
24th June 2017: Mount TKD Competition
Team Strike took overall 3rd place in the Fleetwood competition. Stand out performances in the Kyorugi cam from Ehsan Siddique with 2 wins, second by stoppage; Layla Smith with first round stoppage and Andy Stansfield the only adult fighting for Team Strike. Strike also had success in the Poomsae with Grace Bowes and Karen Stansfield both taking Gold.
April 2017: England Open Championships
Team Strike took along a team for both Poomsae (Saturday) and Kyorugi (Sunday) Championships. The Championships hosted a large number of teams from worldwide including England, Ireland, Spain, Japan. Team Strike started off the weekend strongly with Chief Instructor, Master Lisa Winteridge taking Gold in individual Poomsae before going on to secure Gold in the Champion of Champions category which saw her compete against all the black belt winners of their category. Other successes included Devon Chan and Amy Winteridge, Silver in the Poomsae Pairs, and Grace Bowes - Bronze in the individual Child Poomsae.In the Kyorugi on Sunday, Jake Calvert took Gold in the Child category, with brother Cody settling for Silver in Juniors. Other strong performances included Layla Smith and Ethan Horne.
